Our organisation brings together many different professionals interested in education and the law and the interface between the two.

ANZELA allows us the opportunity to get together with all of the different groups involved as a forum for discussion and debate about things like the way education professionals apply
the law to their everyday situations and how to improve the
way the legal system deals with education issues.

Benefits of Membership

The many benefits of ANZELA membership include:

1.   A subscription to our journal called the International Journal of Law & Education.
2.   Reduced registration fee for seminars and meetings as well as the international conference when it is
       held here every four years.
3.   Receiving by email the ANZELA Reporter – our electronic news journal updating issues of interest.
4.   Also by email, regularly receiving The New Zealand Reporter, a newsletter focussed on the NZ education
      sector. It will include recent news, information and updates relevant to our NZ members.
5.   Access to our website at www.anzela.edu.au that provides general information including details of
      seminars and events in New Zealand. 
6.   Being eligible to apply for  two competitive scholarships offered by ANZELA for members:

      *   A scholarship of up to AUS$3,000 (or NZ equivalent) awarded annually to enable attendance and
           presentation of a paper at an education and law conference;
      *   An award of AUS$2,000 (or NZ equivalent) known as the Dr Ann Shorten Doctoral Award for the best
          doctoral thesis in the area of education and law, to be presented at the annual ANZELA conference. 

7.   Links to other organisations such as the US Education & Law Association and the Australasian Law
      Teachers Association (ALTA).

There are two types of membership available: Individual or Organisation. The difference between the two is as follows:

Individual membership includes:

1.   Receiving a copy of our Journal. The first edition comes out in the middle of the year, with the second
      edition usually arriving at the start of the following year.
2.   Receiving the ANZELA Reporter newsletter which will be emailed to you.
3.   Receiving the New Zealand Reporter newsletter, via email, at various times during the year;
4.   Discount on attendance at our annual Conference.
5.   Discount on attendance at our Education Law seminars.
6.   The opportunity to apply for one of the two ANZELA scholarships;.
7.   Plus the website and links to others organisations as above.

Organisation membership includes:

1.   Receiving 2 copies of our Journal which will be sent to the Organisation’s headquarters;
2.   Receiving the ANZELA Reporter newsletter which will be emailed to your contact person to distribute
      to all organisation members.
3.   Receiving the New Zealand Reporter newsletter via email to your contact person, at various times during
      the year.
4.   Discount for 3 organisation members to attend our annual Conference.
5.   Discount for all organisation members for attendance at our Education Law seminars.
6.   The opportunity for any organisation member to apply for one of the two ANZELA scholarships;
7.   Plus the website and links to others organisations as above.

Organisational membership (option 2) includes:

1.   Receiving 4 copies of our Journal which will be sent to the Organisation’s headquarters;
2.   Receiving the ANZELA Reporter newsletter which will be emailed to your contact person to distribute
      to all organisation members.
3.   Receiving the New Zealand Reporter newsletter via email to your contact person, at various times during
      the year.
4.   Discount for 4-7 organisation members to attend our annual Conference, hled mostly in Australia but in New Zealand every four years.
5.   Discount for all organisation members for attendance at our Education Law seminars usually held twice a year.
